Abstract: Nucleate boiling is one of the most efficient modes of heat transfer, yet many aspects of nucleate boiling are not well understood even today. At the same time, the predictive capacity of mechanistic heat transfer and pressure drop models suffers from a lack of knowledge of these interactions. This paper intends to survey the present state of knowledge of these interactions, including some interesting recent findings.
